Claremont and the
World of Work

gen-line-1

Home → World of Work

We're determined to help young people into employment, especially within the Design and Construction industry.

Aligned with the Ahead Partnership, we've developed a programme of work to help support young people across the UK in developing their career aspirations and skills.

We help reach children at an early stage - the Claremont Interior Design Challenge is aimed at year 5 and 6 pupils, giving them insight in the real world of work. Early interventions such as this really help broaden young aspirations and horizons.

The Claremont World at Work Challenge

Over the course of a day, a classroom of 30 Year 5/6 pupils work in teams in a creative and interactive challenge to design an office interior to a given brief. Facilitated by Ahead Partnership and using bespoke, age-appropriate resources, pupils will learn about the importance of workplace design on employee wellbeing and motivation, branding and design.

The sessions are delivered free of charge to primary schools local to our projects. Priority is given to schools in areas affected by social and economic disadvantage.

These sessions aim to:

  • Develop key skills such as leadership, confidence, communication and problem-solving in pupils
  • Raise aspirations, awareness and knowledge of a range of jobs and careers
  • Make links between curriculum and real life, including the world of work
