How we act corporately is guided by doing the right thing for our people, customers, suppliers and communities near and far – and of course, the natural world.
We prioritise training and awareness-building for our team in relation to CSR. We listen to stakeholders, we support and take part in social responsibility initiatives. We encourage each other to get involved in our local community, and things like fundraising events and awareness campaigns. It’s all monitored and reported, so we can consistently exceed our statutory obligations on employment, health and safety and the environment.
We fully support international efforts to promote ethical principles and practices aimed at preventing the exploitation and abuse of modern slavery and human trafficking. Based on section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, our full anti-slavery and human trafficking policy can be downloaded here.
Claremont continues to support charities through fundraising activities and events. In recent times they have included Coffee4Craig, a charity that provides support and outreach services to homeless people in Manchester, Salford and Cardiff. Our London and South West team have similarly supported the Julian Trust, a charity which provides shelter for homeless people every night in Bristol.
In 2020, our team in the North West has nominated Halton Play Council Children’s Charity. Their aim is to offer play opportunities to children of all abilities, and to support families with much-needed short breaks.
In the South West, our people have chosen One25. This charity works to help over 130 women in Bristol who are at high risk of violence, homelessness and life-threatening illness as they struggle to survive on the city’s streets.
Our charity team has other exciting fundraising activities in the pipeline, including some sport-based initiatives – keep an eye on our blogs for all the details.
At Claremont we have regular breakfast / dress down days where the team in the office raise money through providing a breakfast spread and wearing less formal clothes in order to contribute towards our two chosen charities we support all year round.
A handful of our team at Claremont were lucky enough to take part in a charity skydive where they went out and jumped from 10,000 ft in the air, each member was sponsored in order to raise as much money as possible for our two chosen charities.
The team at Claremont planned a whole day of fun activities and different kinds of ways to raise money for Children In Need this year. Examples of such activities included; a Breakfast Spread, Dress Down Day (which of course had to be yellow) and even ‘Hook-A-Duck’. The team in the end only had the one day to raise money and came up with a total of £147.19
18 Claremont colleagues used their daily exercise to walk/run/cycle the equivalent 1083 miles, from John O’Groats to Land’s End within 2 weeks. We soon realised that we were on track to complete our virtual charity challenge of running, cycling & walking in only half the time!
