A canoe ride down the River Wye, an e-Christmas card, a half marathon, gruelling bike ride and staff breakfast club were just some of the ways that Birchwood based Claremont Group Interiors raised more than £6,000 for local charity Brainwave.
Brainwave is dedicated to helping children with brain injury and developmental delay and was selected as Claremont’s charity of the year for 2014.
Claremont’s 80 strong team was fully behind the fundraising challenge and went to get great lengths to raise much-needed funds for the charity’s two bases in Birchwood and Bristol.
Lizzie Farmery, associate at Claremont Group Interiors said: “There’s a strong tradition of fundraising in our business and the team has been fantastic. A few special people really went above and beyond with eight people canoeing the river wye, one half-marathon runner and a charity cyclist clocking up 60 miles in aid of the cause too.
“Our staff breakfasts are a staple event in our calendar and a great way to raise additional funds, plus the e-Christmas card saw Claremont donate an extra £1 to the pot for every click. It’s been a really tremendous team effort.”
Joanne Freeman, North West fundraising manager for Brainwave said: “We can’t thank Claremont enough for all their very creative and courageous efforts. The money will make a real difference to both our sites here in Birchwood and Somerset and means we can continue giving the very best support to children and their families when they need it most.”
Claremont Group Interiors is currently fundraising for St Rocco’s Hospice in Warrington.
