Our charity team were delighted to be able to hand over a £16,000 cheque to our 2016 chosen charity Warrington Disability Partnership, after a year of fundraising that included monthly dress down days, raffles, our annual pumpkin carving competition and a 42-mile canoeing trek down the River Wye.
WDP chief executive and co-founder Dave Thompson said: “Being chosen as a charity of the year by an organisations that’s so passionate about raising funds for local community organisations is an honour. Nobody has ever raised the type of money that they have raised for us.”
Warrington Disability Partnership is an internationally acclaimed user-led charity, which has just celebrated its 25th anniversary of developing and delivering mobility and independent living services, supporting disabled people and people living with long term health conditions. Claremont’s £16,000 contributed towards WDP’s 25th anniversary Legacy Appeal, which will be used to employ young disabled people in the local area.
