After 40 years at its working space in Diggle in Oldham, Vindon asked Claremont to assist with its relocation project. The company had outgrown its current premises which was no longer suitable for current working practices and didn’t assist the company’s market development and expansion plans.
Following Claremont’s EOS workplace consultancy service and property search, Vindon ultimately signed for the construction of a building on the 420-acre Kingsway Business Park development in Rochdale with the intention of creating a purpose-built manufacturing and storage facility, with a build and test area, multi-level expansion and storage space, as well as office functions, presentation facilities and client and staff facilities.
Following a competitive tender process, Claremont was appointed to bring all elements of the relocation project together and complete the turn-key fit-out for the building. Working conditions and welfare were a high priority, with both technical and warehousing functions working hand-in-hand to create a niche solution for the client.
Vindon were also particularly keen to create an impact and to ensure that the company’s history within the local community would be reflected in the design solution. The new facility was split between office space and open plan warehouse and storage areas. The project works included the construction of a specialist mezzanine, new ceiling, lighting and boardroom as well as the provision of an audio visual solution.
The relocation project has enabled the company to consolidate all of its UK operations and provided a significant new platform for future growth.
The new premises now provide a best-in-class storage and disaster recovery facility, significantly increasing the company’s brand and product profile. The storage capacity of the facility has increased by nearly five-fold and the manufacturing capacity by two-fold.
