The Brief
West Cheshire College did not want to create a college in the traditional sense. They wanted the new building to have the look and feel of a ‘learning centre’ to encourage more students to enrol in further education at the college. Claremont Group Interiors were appointed to provide desks, tables and storage. It was important for the furniture to be flexible yet aesthetically pleasing and cost effective. West Cheshire College required furniture for learning spaces, staff areas, laboratories, meeting rooms, dirty task areas and breakout spaces. Claremont needed to work closely with the project team and Designer throughout the duration of the project to ensure that the budget was hit and timescales were met in line with the construction of the new building.
The Solution & Result
Claremont specified Staverton ZD desking for the learning and staff spaces and meeting rooms throughout the building. Allermuir tables were chosen for the breakout areas/ cafe area. West Cheshire College required a flexible solution for storage and Claremont’s ‘Wallstore’ division designed and manufactured bookcases to specifically meet the needs of the College. All other storage for staff areas and laboratories was supplied by Triumph. During the project, there were a few complications resulting in a delay in the construction of the building and Claremont managed the logistics of this without incurring any costs. West Cheshire College are delighted with their new campus and the new facilities have resulted in an increase in student intake.
