Servisair case study

Due to continued expansion, Servisair Globeground made the decision to relocate their UK office from a cramped and dated office building. They selected the second floor in a new development close to Manchester airport. The new office was to be largely open plan to encourage teamwork and collaboration across all aspects of the business and should also represent their new brand identity which was established during 2004.

Solution

The project was of a fast-track nature as Servisair had already disposed of their existing premises. The scheme was designed and delivered within 16 weeks. The handover date was critical, and during the course of the design programme the numbers increased from 103 to 122, and the extra people had to be accommodated within the existing timeframe.

Partitioning and storage wall systems from K&N were used to create a small number of cellular spaces and a number of multipurpose meeting facilities with audio-visual facilities. An informal timeout zone and kitchen facility was provided and are well utilised by the staff at lunchtimes and for informal meetings and breakout space.

The design scheme reflects the corporate colours of the business, with a global travel theme based on the latitude and longitude of all the Servisair offices across the world.

Result

The project was completed on time and Claremont planned and managed the successful move of all the staff. There has been further expansion since the original project and the flexible nature of the furniture by Teknion has allowed Servisair to add to their teams where necessary.

The light and airy feel of the offices with a maximum amount of glazing and simple design ethos is much appreciated by the staff who can enjoy their crisp new environment whilst watching the planes land.
