The Brief
Claremont was appointed by Grace Academy in June 2005 to provide a variety of design and procurement services for the new Academy close to Solihull. The school was to accommodate 1,350 pupils between 11-18 years old in a state-of-the-art school specialising in business and enterprise as part of the government’s initiative to provide a new academy programme across the UK. Working with architects Building Design Partnership, the school was scheduled to open in September 2006. The client wanted to provide more supportive and welcoming teaching environments to promote a positive aspect to learning for the pupils.
The Solution
A complex series of inter-linked programmes were undertaken by Claremont to supply and install a variety of products as part of the installation within the master programme by Taylor Woodrow. Claremont installed the large suite of laboratories, art and design studios and extensive library facility. In addition, a sophisticated lecture theatre installation was installed to provide a facility which may be used by the local community.
