The Brief
GB Oils Limited (GB Oils) is DCC plc’s oil distribution business in Great Britain, distributing oil products to domestic, commercial, industrial and agricultural customers across the country.
Following the acquisition by GB Oils of Shell Direct UK Ltd in 2005 and the subsequent increase in business growth, the client was looking to consolidate its key regional offices, whilst at the same time facilitate the improvement of internal communications and provide improved accommodation for employees. A key aspect of the brief also included the upgrade of their existing client-facing facilities to create a more polished and professional impression for existing and prospective clients alike.
Both the client and Claremont wanted to take the relocation as an opportunity to completely refresh the look and feel of the company’s workspace—creating a new facility which would be fresh, bright and functional, and which would accommodate the company’s current plans, as well as provide scope for future expansion.
The Solution
Relocating to Building 302 at the Birchwood Park office campus, the Claremont team was brought on board by GB Oils to undertake the project management of the entire process; from the creation of the original design concept, visuals & finishes, right through to the final fit-out, delivery, installation and move management programme.
The full scope of works encompassed the re-design and fit-out of the reception/ client waiting area, cellular offices, open-plan work area, meeting facilities, boardroom, & breakout areas and complete furniture package, which included; reception furniture, workstations, seating, screens, breakout furniture, executive furniture and storage systems.
The Result
The complete environment created by Claremont is a light, comfortable and practical workspace of superior quality, which fits well with the client’s current and future business needs. From the comprehensive storage options which help to create a much more streamline workspace, right through to the understated planting, in keeping with the exterior aesthetic of the business park, Claremont was confident in delivering a design and fit-out project which would provide the company with the look, feel and level of flexibility it required.
