Published on 30 May 2007
Coleen McCloughlin has thanked all the businesses that took part in raising over £150,000 for the Halliwells Corporate Challenge for Claire House in Liverpool. Over 100 companies were given £50 by Halliwells in Liverpool and were challenged to turn their stake into as much as possible over a three-month period.
Claremont Group Interiors turned their £50 into the grand total of £22,979 through an innovative "teddy trail" to win the challenge. The company adopted Monty the teddy bear as its mascot and sent Monty on a sponsored 1,000 mile trip around the country, using as many different methods of transport as possible, including planes, trains, boats and automobiles.
Coleen, a high profile supporter of Claire House, has followed the challenge from day one. She commented:
"This is a fantastic effort. The generosity shown by the local business community has been outstanding. I'd like to thank everyone who has put this challenge together."
