Claremont Group Interiors saw their charity 'teddy challenge' come to fruition when the Warrington-based company won the Halliwells' Corporate Challenge, having raised the highest fundraising amount of GBP22,979.00 for Claire House Hospice, Wirral.
Along with over 100 other companies, Claremont were given GBP50 by Halliwells to put towards a fund-raising initiative of each company's own choosing.
Claremont Group Interiors decided to take a national approach to the Challenge, encouraging staff in all three of its regional offices in Warrington, Fareham and Bristol to join together in an epic 'Teddy Trail'. It was decided that 'Monty', the company's adopted mascot, was to travel with Claremont staff on a 1,000 mile trip around the U.K, using as many different modes of transport as possible.
Exceeding all expectations, Monty finally clocked up an epic 1,500 + miles on his nationwide journey, involving more than 8 different modes of transport and 80 members of the Claremont Group team.
Mike Gardner, Managing Director of Claremont, said:
"We are absolutely delighted to have won the Halliwells' Corporate Challenge. When we came up with the idea, we were hoping to raise approximately GBP20,000, so we are very proud to have exceeded all expectations, raising such a fantastic amount for this worthwhile cause."
"At the final handover of Monty to Claire House it was truly brought home to us the importance of undertaking the challenge."
Everton FC finished in second place, having raised GBP15,000, with an entrepreneurial award going to The Ideas Agency. Just over GBP150,000 was raised in total by all companies involved in the Challenge.
