Homeserve case study
The challenge
Claremont was appointed to carry out a feasibility study
for Homeserve Plc in Norwich considering business strat-
egy and their existing properties. Their buildings were un-
suitable in supporting the companies ambitious growth
plans and it was decided to commission a new building on
Broadland Business Park. Claremont’s brief was extended
to include interior design and workplace planning services.
The new corporate headquarters were to include all de-
partments including a 24 hour call centre, directors suite,
boardroom, training suite and cafe. The requirement was
mainly open plan office space with break-out spaces and
informal meeting areas. The layout was to be flexible
enough to cope with the demands of the ever expanding
organization and changing team structures. The new
brand identity was also to be reflected in the scheme.
The solution
The layout was based on workstation standards common
to all staff. The three floors accommodate 234 staff with
room for expansion. Within the open plan spaces, the
meeting rooms are central to the space, maximising the
building potential and making use of the natural light.
Breakout spaces are situated on every floor with a fully
serviced café seating 104. on the ground floor. The Board-
room suite provides the management team with nine pri-
vate offices, meeting facilities and a secretariat.
The result
The final solution achieves the initial criteria of offering the
staff a professional, spacious workspace that encourages
productivity and teamwork. The staff were kept fully up-
dated on progress at each stage which contributed to the
success of the project. Homeserve are delighted with their
new environment and moved in on time in Autumn 2006
