"Claremont's team offered a wide range of suppliers and choices, accommodated any radical schemes we had and steered us safely through what could have been a minefield of working with different companies, designers and finishes." Sara Mogel, Principal

The brief

West Cheshire College did not want to create a traditional college— instead it wanted the new building to have the look and feel of a ‘learning centre’ to encourage more students to enrol in further education.

Claremont was appointed to provide desks, tables and storage with a particular focus on offering flexibility, cost effectiveness and aesthetic appeal. West Cheshire College required furniture for learning spaces, staff areas, laboratories, meeting rooms, dirty task areas and breakout spaces. Claremont worked closely with the project team and designer throughout to ensure the project was completed on time and to budget.

The results

Claremont specified Staverton’s ZD desks for the learning and staff areas as well as the meeting rooms and Allermuir tables were chosen for the breakout spaces and café area. West Cheshire College required a flexible solution for storage and so Claremont’s ‘Wallstore’ division designed and manufactured bookcases to meet its specific needs. All other storage solutions for staff areas and laboratories were supplied by Triumph.

Construction of the building was subject to some delay however Claremont managed the logistics of the furniture package without incurring any additional costs. Since the facility was completed West Cheshire College has reported an increase in student numbers.

Claremont’s team offered a wide range of suppliers and choices, accommodated any radical schemes we had and steered us safely through what could have been a minefield of working with different companies, designers and finishes. They completely understood the brief, which included matching our iconic building with suitable furniture, but within a fairly tight budget. The final result is truly wonderful!
