"Claremont has proven again that they thoroughly understand what we want for our students – which is to make them work-ready. Claremont’s experience in commercial office environments, combined with their understanding of our sector and our long-standing relationship, make them a very trusted partner." Paul Davis, Assistant Director of Estates and Facilities

The brief

Claremont’s brief was to furnish a teaching space that is used by 1,200 undergraduate, postgraduate and PHD students each day. The focus was to create a dynamic and flexible area that had students’ studying needs at its heart. The team was also asked to furnish an executive suite used by continuing professional development students.

The results

Building on a strong existing relationship with the University, Claremont worked closely with the architect to ensure that the furniture fit coherently with the interior scheme.

With the focus on making students work-ready, Claremont selected furniture typically used in office environments. Mobile furniture that can be reconfigured with ease was chosen to give the University maximum flexibility to change spaces to suit different learning methods.

Encompassing seminar rooms, breakout and study spaces as well as offices and cafés, the scheme reflects a commitment to 360 degree learning – the idea that every aspect of our surroundings impacts the learning experience.

Claremont has proven again that they thoroughly understand what we want for our students – which is to make them work-ready. Claremont’s experience in commercial office environments, combined with their understanding of our sector and our long-standing relationship, make them a very trusted partner. We now have a professional and flexible space that the students love and are making good use of. It fulfils the brief completely.
