The brief

Capsticks is a specialist health and social care law firm with its head office based in London. Due to growth, the company decided to open a new regional office in Leeds. Claremont was appointed to provide the design, fit-out, furniture and audio visual solutions for the new offices with 38 members of staff based at Toronto Square, Leeds. Claremont was also instructed to undertake the design and refurbishment of Capsticks’ existing Birmingham office on Newhall Street. Following the refurbishment of Capsticks’ head office in London the firm wished to replicate the design in their regional offices, creating a consistent look throughout.

The firm’s main objective was to create a London professional look and feel across their other city locations. To achieve this, a more cost effective solution of procurement and design
was required. It was also important that the new office in Leeds and the refurbished office in Birmingham would be contemporary and functional, but not opulent, and incorporate Capsticks’ branding into the space.

Another imperative aspect of the brief was to create a space that would help to attract new and retain existing staff. Therefore, it was essential to create a modern and bright working environment. Claremont designed a scheme that met all of Capsticks’ requirements for each office project and were appointed to deliver the complete package of works for both sites.

The results

Claremont provided a ‘one stop’ turnkey solution for Capsticks that included design, procurement and delivery of all project elements. The design incorporated Capsticks’ company branding and the firm’s colour palette of neutral, red and blue tones, ensuring a consistent look and feel in each office.

In Leeds, a welcoming reception was created with adjoining formal meeting rooms for clients and staff. Each meeting room is equipped with audio visual technology which is easy to use and maintain. In the office space, two informal meeting rooms were set up to encourage staff collaboration and team work.

A bright kitchen and breakout area were also designed adjacent to the reception area. Claremont ensured that the layout of the open plan space has been maximised to cater for future growth. For the furniture solution, good economical products were sourced, which are also durable and practical.

Claremont helped Capsticks to achieve its objective to have a collective brand identity across all of its offices and to provide a modern and bright working environment for clients and staff. The firm is also prepared for further expansion, as the scene has been set for future growth.

Overall, Claremont provided a cost effective solution, with a quality look and feel, mirroring Capsticks’ London head office. The new and refurbished working environments are functional,
but also contemporary, creating a fantastic place to work in and entertain clients.

Claremont delivered both the Leeds and Birmingham projects on time and within budget.
