Accountants and business advisers, BDO Stoy Hayward, appointed Claremont Group Interiors to complete the design and fit-out of their new 35,000sq ft office at 3 Hardman Street, Spinningfields.

The new office provides space for around 225 staff, with the main theme of the design moving the firm away from a static workplace to something more dynamic. There is a bespoke central ‘Village Green’ with ‘neighbourhoods’ located around it, acting as a focal point for the whole space. These neighbourhoods include private harbours (which are shared workstations to allow people to work quietly and confidentially) as well as meeting facilities of various types.

BDO’s client suite is self-contained but the company worked with Claremont to develop the concept of a client lounge that encourages clients to stay in the space and use their facilities. The whole building is supported by a wireless network that is open to clients and other visitors.

Jeff Jones, lead partner at BDO Stoy Hayward in Manchester, said: "It's an exciting time for our Manchester office. Our move to 3 Hardman Street is a major investment and shows our commitment to our clients and our people. Moving forward, the new office will provide us with a first-class, contemporary, open-plan working environment which will comfortably house our team as well as giving us flexibility and the option of further expansion as the team continues to grow."

Mike Gardner, Managing Director of Claremont said; “We are proud to have worked with BDO Stoy Hayward and have created an inspiring and motivating workspace and client suite at Hardman Street. BDO’s approach of personally tailoring their solutions for clients closely echoes that of Claremont’s own values and this synergy has undoubtedly helped our understanding of their objectives for the project.”
